It is in your interests and important to choose a psychotherapist who is professionally qualified and registered
.
I am an experienced, professionally qualified and registered Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist .
I have worked within the Charity, NHS and private sectors both as a psychotherapist and in a consultative role.
I have experience in work with individuals and with couples, for a shorter or time-limited period, as well as long term or open ended, and have worked with late teens, mid life and older adults age ranges.
All work is confidential and regulated by a strict professional code of ethics and practice.
I underwent an in-depth training with the WPF Therapy, an academic and clinical organisation of long standing, accredited by BPC (British Psychoanalytic Council), UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I hold a Masters degree (MA) in Psychoanalytic Studies, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psycho-dynamic Studies and an Advanced Diploma in Psycho-dynamic Counselling. I have many years experience in private practice, as well as having worked as a Psychotherapist in the Couples Unit at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust and being a clinical assessor at the WPF Therapy.
I work in English, as well as Portuguese or French for those who may prefer to speak these.
I am a professional member of the FPC (the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling), registered and accredited as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist with the BPC, BACP and UKCP. These professional bodies have clear guidelines, which can be accessed on their websites, and also a complaints procedure. They ensure that work is carried out within strict codes of practice and ethics.
I attend regularly, as well as co-organise, Continuous Professional Development events, have regular clinical supervision and have undergone personal psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
Whilst working in most areas of psychological and emotional health, I have a particular interest in the the areas of pre and post natal issues, inter-cultural and international dynamics and in the roles of fathers and mothers, whether living with their children or away.
